Blog #3, Spring 2025

New week! Tuesday we spent the majority of class going over everyones semester plans. I got really great feedback and some really good ideas that I am looking forward to trying. Brian suggested using the shards in the atmospheric firing and working on being able to stack pieces to build up their size. I went in Wednesday morning and worked on a new pot which would be the bottom of this new stackable sculpture. Thursday I worked and finished on the top of the stackable structure. After I finished, I got to test if they fit and they do! I am still a little nervous about the drying and firing process and making sure they continue to stack properly but I am excited by the new door this has opened for me. I am excited to continue to create smaller stackable pieces and really test the limits of how big I can go while making each segment a reasonable size. This week I also sent and received emails from a couple programs in the UK which sound like good options for next year so I am looking forward to continuing to research and figure out my next step plans.
