Blog #2, Spring 2025

I came in Monday afternoon and started working on a new pot again with this new clay I am experimenting with. I am hoping to make a shape similar to the smaller tall pot I made last semester with this one. I really like this clay so far, it was extremely smooth especially compared to the brown clay I was working on last semester which is a nice change. Of the stuff I have already made and fired, the clay seems to fire really light which could be interesting with a bigger piece. I am curious how it’ll work when I go bigger, and if it will warp too much at higher temps. On Thursday I ended up finishing that big pot and after class mixed clay with Emma for the makeathon as well as some class stoneware. Got back in the studio Sunday to make some things for the makeathon since I will be missing it Tuesday due to work. Spent most of my time making things for that and didn’t have time for my own work that day.
