Redemption week! After losing my first attempt at that big pot I reclaimed all the clay and used it to start again. I learned from my mistakes and have not tried to move it before it was set up and so far so good. It is upright and starting to dry. Before reclaiming all the clay I saved a few sections of the fallen piece for tests and I think that they could work as neat wall pieces. I’ve been using flashing slips to paint on the strips of clay so I am hoping they turn out well in the soda. This week Emma Sarah and I went to the creek and dug for more local clay. I got a whole five gallon bucket and started to process some of it. I will need to do more testing once I get it cleaned etc. Feeling happy I got my first big piece built, and I am looking forward to the finished product.
